February 12th – back up to Backwater reservoir for a wander, used to visit two or three times a week but that has tailed off a little, i think the forestry work and the weather of course has decided for me but I’m trying to get back there as often as possible. … More Another chilly wander
On January 19th I took a walk at the reservoir and was a little shocked to see the water level had barely risen and, yes, the sun shone! It’s been a while. The water level was just over 27 metres at the tower; it had been just below that before Christmas.

This morning I have been out to greet the rising sun … More I edit, I listen

I do hope no-one minds that I split my walk into two parts? This is the big part, to me anyway, where the Red Kites started cruising around me, allowing me to photograph them in quite close proximity. I see them at Backwater reservoir quite often now. I’d made my way to the second gate, … More Kite a walk Pt. 2
April 11th, off to Backwater reservoir, it feels like a long time since I was last up there for a wander….. it isn’t 🙂 There were no cars in the car park when I got there, always a good sign for me. The sun was shining, the sky was mostly blue and a decent breeze … More Kite a walk
