Sunday afternoon stroll

After my morning wander along the shore, we headed into Anstruther to get a bite to eat and generally have a drift around. It’s around one mile from our wee flat in Cellardyke to the end of the waterfront in town, a nice wander through the old and narrow streets. You spend quite a bit of time hopping on and off the footpath and sometimes there isn’t room on it anyway with cars having to park on it to allow room for others to drive by, it really was not designed for 21st century people and vehicles but it’s beautiful and interesting.

Town wasn’t as busy as expected but we had booked a table for lunch/dinner because we thought it was going to be so, we did some wandering until 12:45, our reservation time. Sound posh?

It was in The Wee Chippy! 🤣 One of the best fish n chip shops in the UK, hence the popularity. Sunday lunch in a chip shop??? Yup. It’s what we really fancied.

The Wee Chippy

Have a look. Anyway, turned out it got really busy just after we sat down and people were turned away while we ate the best we’d had ….. since last visit 🤣

Our appetites well and truly satisfied and some, we walked it off a little by wandering along the pier before heading back.

It was a mixed weather day, a good breeze, sunny spells and great clouds.

It was threatening to rain the entire time but never really started until much later so we took a circuitous route via a corner shop yo pick up some bits and pieces before making our way back.

It was looking a little more ominous as we hit Cellardyke again.

You can kind of see dark sky over the houses at the end of the harbour, time for some TV and relaxation.

We were watching a show when I glanced out the window and saw this …

What a great sky and then came the rain, perfect timing 👍

We were settled in for the night watching TV so it didn’t bother us one bit, tomorrow’s another day.
