Did you ever see a rainbow?

At night?

I set up the camera outside around 18:00 last night, only left it out for an hour, it was pretty cold and there was nothing really going on in the early evening sky.

This morning, when I started checking through the shots ……

A faint rainbow has formed below that dark cloud. Hmmmmmm

The bright Moon? Anyone seen this before? This was just after 19:00.

  1. I’ve seen a Moonbow in Yosemite National Park. It’s a thing! It only happens in June there when the Moon lines up with the Yosemite Falls. It’s a cool phenomenon isn’t it. It occurs when the Moon’s light is reflected and refracted off water droplets in the air.

    1. You mean like this? I’d had a Moon halo once a few years ago but I can see that if the Moon is bright enough and there’s water droplets it can happen, just never (knowingly) seen it before 🙂 I’m beginning to build a collection of sky / night sky phenomena here

      2. There are times when WP confuses me! I go to the page, no comment, I open my page, I have to sign in? Hmmmm Anyway, I would love to see and photograph Yosemite, maybe the next life? 🙂
