It’s been a while since I’ve been up to the reservoir. I checked back through the images awaiting edit and it was October 27th! That might give you some idea of the dreich weather we’ve been having. OK that’s not all that prevented me going up but a fair part of it and today, December 15th, the sun shone, kind of! 🙂 So I decided it was high time I went back up for a walk and to check the water level, last time I was there it wasn’t good. … More Accidental Encounter
I may have mentioned before? It’s been really dreich here for ages now, possibly weeks. The sun peeps through now and again but essentially it has been grey, overcast, cloudy and pretty chilly, not great for photography, not great for walks but I’ve still been getting out and about. … More Dreich days of December
unning behind, as ever! I blame the dreich. It feels like a looooong time since we had some clean, clear weather; it probably isn’t but the dull, wet, grey days we’ve been suffering recently are getting really wearing, they really do not help you feel your best but, it’s Winter right? And, I did keep saying we need rain, we’re definitely getting that right now. … More Weekly Digest

November – Week 2 I’m late I know, I’ve been away you know! More posting to do!!! Anyway, here is last week on the patch from November 10th on. I do remember that it was pretty dull on the 10th itself and I was out later than usual so I didn’t get much at all. … More Weekly Digest
have spent the past couple of days, inside because it’s been awfy dreich, editing and attempting to select and gather a set of shots for the week! I’m not complaining, really, I’ve been saying we need rain for a few weeks now so ….. this morning it was actually pishin’ doon, not too bad now. I think the worst part of almost constant dreich is the dull grey, useless for photography and a wee bit depressing after a while but…….. it really is not worth getting depressed by the weather, it’s just weather, right? … More Weekly Digest
I’ve just come to realise that there is a set of birds out there that only appear in the garden as the weather begins to decline, maybe not decline, the temperature drops perhaps. I’ve spotted a (the) Mistle Thrush a couple of times now, a pair of Brambling dropped in on Sunday & Monday and … More They call me the Creeper
I am very lucky to have a great selection of regular garden visitors to the feeders and now and then, a less common visitor might drop by but I don’t think I have any favourites, apart from maybe colouration making them more pleasing to photograph and share. … More Cedric & Calliope Dine Out
The first weekend in November, I don’t think I actually noticed until later in the day, I guess that’s age and retirement for you. It was a real mixed bag of weather for the whole weekend; pretty cold, calm, sunny, wet, windy ….. anything else? … More Into November
