February 11th – My usual loop, along the top of the field, down to the wild cam site and up to the feeding post. I’m starting to realise I have a few stopping points on these walks, which vary depending on activity and the route I take. … More Birds on the Patch
Much as I love the word dreich, it just works, I am getting truly fed up of it, grey, dull, dank skies, often raining and not real rain but that misty wet stuff that clings when it lands. To my memory, the last sunny day we had was Jan 19th when i went up to the reservoir, the sun did try to get through a couple of days back but only for a few minutes, then gave up. Apparently the Jetstream is pointing right at us and a weather front is stuck over Scandinavia and we’ve had Easterly winds all this time ……. cold! … More Walking in Dreich

I’ve spotted a (the) Mistle Thrush a couple of times now, a pair of Brambling dropped in on Sunday & Monday and … More They call me the Creeper
I am very lucky to have a great selection of regular garden visitors to the feeders and now and then, a less common visitor might drop by but I don’t think I have any favourites, apart from maybe colouration making them more pleasing to photograph and share. … More Cedric & Calliope Dine Out
It’s been getting progressively colder all week and a week of very mixed weather, we had storm somebody or other, blew a hoollie ALL night then the next day was post-storm windy day, certainly clearing leaves off the Autumnal trees. It’s also been a great week for sunrise and set, not every day but a good few and of course …. a Lemmon! … More Weekly Digest
