Running back

No, not a field position, I wouldn’t know one if he ran into me, this is more about an encounter in nature and, by coincidence, a song that came into my head this morning.

I am sitting at the Mac, for a change. The Sun is shining, for a change. It’s hot out there, for a change 🙂

That aside, I went for a patch walk yesterday before it got too hot (relatively speaking) and I had a lovely, brief encounter with a Brown Hare. As I walked up the lane, I spotted a hare up ahead at the side of the lane, I reached for the camera but it disappeared into the growth, just as Glen the dog came running around the far corner 🙂

So we had a Hi, scrootches and much tail wagging before heading onward and up around the bend. I stood looking and listening to the shrubs and trees around me when a movement caught my eye….

A Brown Hare, the same one? Lolloping towards me. I kept very still.

I’m pretty sure it could see me but wasn’t too sure, their eyesight either isn’t great or they trust in their tremendous speeds.

None of these shots are cropped, just the 600mm lens.

It popped into the shrubs again and disappeared, wonderful.

This has happened a few times up there and why wouldn’t they use the lane?

I really must get out there earlier and try to get close to them, it can be done.

Stay safe and well.

Oh, the song! Running Back – Thin Lizzy
