What are your morning rituals? What does the first hour of your day look like?
There’s no traffic here, no noisy neighbours for the most part so nothing to waken us up other than light around the curtains and the fact that I am a very light sleeper.
I tend to waken first so I’ll roll around a little, rub the dust from my eyes, check the time, once I can see then put on my watch / Garmin.
Then it’s either time to wait quietly or time to go make the coffee and toast.

If Jo wakens while I’m waiting I’ll get, “Coppee?”
We may go through our morning ‘who’s making it?’ But, it’s me, it’s my job.
Sometimes, and I know this is a bit wild! Jo will make it 😱
Most days, it’s me. We buy several variations of Illy coffee, it is delicious! It is cafetiere coffee.
Why does anyone pay £££££ or $$$$$ for high Street, big name, rip-off coffee?
Convenience.
I choose which we’re having and toast a Harry Gow Morning Roll 😋😋👍🥰
Also, I cut the roll horizontally, twice so we get a bottom, a middle and a lid! The lid is a delicacy that is much fought over 🙄
Jam, Honey, Peanut Butter, Honey & Cinnamon, Syrup; all varieties of toppings.
We’re pretty out there eh?
We chat, discuss what passes for News online then I go fire up the Mac.
Actually, since Apple put out the Tahoe update, I often fire it up before heading for the kitchen, it is SO SLOW now.
After coppee, it’s time for tea. I have a Radiance herbal or Green Mint Tea, Jo has a Mint Tea.
The daily question has to arise ….. what’s for dinner? We’re older now, we discuss it, mull it over but, whatever will be, will be.
We may discuss the day, are we going anywhere? Do we, or does Jo need to go shopping? The nearest small town is four miles away, do we need to go further afield?
Am I going for a walk? On the patch or elsewhere? My favourite walk is a reservoir that is 7 country road miles away.
All of it is with humour, nothing needs to get too serious and, at some point, I’ll drift through to my den, start some music, open Lightroom and set about some photo editing.
And that’s usually it.
Oh. Did I mention, we’re retired? No rush 👍
There are usually a few words of weather shared. It’s dreich again. It’s pishin doon! The Sun is out, although that’s a rare one recently 🤣👍
