Having edited and loaded up my shots of the Red Squirrel yesterday, this morning when I started Lightroom, I clicked on a folder named 2024! I clicked on a few empty folders below that until …

I stumbled upon a selection of “heelan coo” shots. I now remember these were in the field across the road from the Den of Alyth where we often walk but, they’d been overlooked in melee of new photos so, here they are. Well, a few of them anyway 🙂

It is important to a mother that her offspring look their best, right?

Now stand still dear, you must wash your face! Your neck and ears! People will talk about you!

There, that’s better isn’t it? 🙂
Very cute. 🙂

They are so lovely and beautiful. As if they really gave poses to your camera, like models. Thank you, Love, nia

Aren’t they Nia? They are hugely cute cows, especially the young 🙂

Yes great captures of the coos my friend. We saw these not far from the red squirrel. The red hair (recessive gene) is displayed in the hair of the people as well as the animals which fits with the colder climate. My wife calls the hairy-coos but more true they are heelan coos. Sadly the English gave the Scots a bad time over there preferred cows.

Thank you, there’s a small herd not too far away with very varied colours from black through shades of beige I should try to head over for a few shots 👍

Cute indeed! I guess there’s no such thing as a bad hair day for them! Ha!

Such great captures, Brian. Your focus and aperture really bring out their cute and hairy personalities. The licking photo is fantastic!
