Sadly. Yes, it’s been almost completely dreich so far this month, a couple of decent or better days in between and no change for the near future, ach well, soon be Christmas 🙂

I think my last post covered up to December 9th so I will continue from there, apologies if I repeat any shots.

December 17th saw my next bout of editing and therefor sitting by the window looking out at the feeder area.

Poor wee male Chaffinch looks so forlorn in that first shot. There’s a word you don’t see much any more 🙂

Probably the first visitor we get most days are the Goldfinches, there are over a dozen arriving now.

The others soon arrive and it all gets a bit chaotic out there for a while.

We appear to have a semi-resident Treecreeper as well now, I want to name it but creepy just doesn’t feel right 🙂

The next batch all came and went in the same minute.

You get glimpses of the constant to and fro going on, getting pretty competitive now and again. With the weather being so dark I haven’t tried to get any of these disagreements, need faster speed for that and I think the shots would start to get too noisy.

There are a few Blackbirds dropping in as well, I drop Raisins with some of the suet and they love them.

Every one of them starts to look soaked after a while.

Poor wee souls, no choice but to get out and eat.

I got a few shots of the chaos at one feeder.

I think I’ve mentioned before that some birds seem to have had a good breeding year, the Dunnocks are one of them, we can have three in the garden at once, only ever saw one before and that was quite rare.

Quick snap of a Blue Tit, they’re still pretty zippy and harder to grab shots of.

Soaked Chaffinch males on the root and in the garden and, my favourite, because they’re so much fun …

Great Spotted Woodpecker peeping round the tree trunk to check on me.

A young Starling dropped by and tried getting at the sunflower hearts.

We have House & Tree Sparrows here but the House Sparrows usually stay out among the buildings and hedges most often, however, a few came in today.

A couple of females and a male.

As ever, the Siskin were in the foray all day, there seems to be more arriving every day, feisty wee beasties too.

That male was trying to chase any other birds off the sunflower seeds. 🙂

You can probably see the rain falling in some of those shots, we have had at least one decent day since these.

That’s our garden visitors on yet another wet day, there may be more 😉
