The morning after my Walk into Sunset, I awoke to find it very misty outside and pretty chilly I might add! I shuffled through to the kitchen glancing out the windows with my misty eyes, still not full awake but capable of noticing nice light outside, I do like a bright, misty morning so ………… camera in hand, flip-flops and dressing gown on I headed out front, see what I might see.

The sky had that gorgeous golden glow growing over the mist, the air was still and silent and still pretty chilly!

The mist was very slowly retreating down the valleys but there was enough around for that silent, slightly eerie feeling.
I headed round the back, see how the hills looked.

The mist was lying in this valley, almost hiding the nearest trees, allowing the hilltops to peek over the top but there were a couple of beautiful wisps of cloud that looked just like more hillsides beyond.

To me it looked like there was more mist in more valleys, that cloud to the left looks so much like another hillside. I found it a beautiful, odd effect.
Anyway, coffee and toast called so, back inside get that sorted then I’ll see what has happened since.
I went out front again and wow!

The sun was starting to rise over our horizon, still in the mist and beyond the tree on that hill creating dark shadowy rays in the sky!

I was now standing in the field with wet toes, in awe of the effect I was watching and remembering to photograph, now I wish I’d had the sense to time-lapse the entire event!
I kept on moving around, grabbing more shots, oblivious to the chill and the wet feet ๐

A whole two minutes had elapsed since the first sunrise shot! I couldn’t walk away, not even look away.
It started to fade into the third minute, these things rarely last long.

The first shot was at 07:58, the last at 08:01.

I consider myself very lucky to have the open sky we have and that I get and take the time to see these things, so many cannot and do not see anything like this sadly.
Heading back to the house, I grabbed a few shots out the back for a misty panorama shot.

My first shot at the top was at 07:10, my last at 08:03, not exactly wasted time and the entire rest of the day still to experience ๐
I’m a great believer in “whit’s for ye’ll no go by ye”, call it fate? Que sera, sera?
See you again soon ๐
