Today is a “car’s in the garage” days. New tyres needed so, dropped off at 08:00 and wandered off, warm top, waterproof jacket and camera ready.
It was pouring when I left the house, it had stopped by the time I started walking. Up the Ericht, see what I might see. I’ve seen Kingfishers whizzing up and down the river so, you never know.
Too warm for the jacket but I have nowhere to get rid of it so, a slow walk in the shade when possible.
There were a few Rabbits munching on the grass in the park area.

The walk up the river is beautiful, easy and has several ruined Mills along it.

I sauntered along, listening to the birds and the river, very peaceful. Eventually I reached the “beach”, a muddy, gravel area where you can just sit and enjoy and you never know, there are Otters on the river but not today. 😥

I was standing in the remains of a mill when I took that one.
I sat for a while just taking in the tranquility before carrying on up the lane past another mill ruin.

That back wall around two old door frames, is disintegrating quite quickly, I guess most of the wall will collapse then. 😳
The path joins a country road which climbs quite steeply up behind the town. The jacket and warm top were really too much now.
Typical British weather, rain showers, potentially heavy but really warm, humid. No complaints just difficult to dress appropriately 🤣

I made it back into town via an old graveyard and dropped into The Dome cafe for a cuppa and something to eat. I’ve been trying to find out more about it but limited on my phone so I’ll research when I get home. I did get this snippet of history.
Ended up with a mug of tea and roll and slice, Lorne or square sausage! Delicious 😋

The dome in the back of the cafe makes a really interesting feature.

It’s definitely worth a visit if you’re in Blairgowrie, good, straightforward food with friendly service.
So, a 2.5 mile stroll in a beautiful location, a breakfast bite to eat and now, sitting in the garage, waiting while new tyres are fitted (to the car 🤣) then homeward.
A wee slice of Perthshire life.

Gorgeous there. Love the old ruins and the deep greens. So much green and ferns 😍
