I’ve been working through the vast backlog of images recently, today is dull, dreich, dank outside so, it’s an editing day.
I was simply working on a series from a walk on the patch on June 1st when I came across this set of shots.

As you can see it’s pretty dark, either me getting it all wrong or, I was over-compensating for the water droplets which I liked as part of the shot.
So, a little work later ….

I’ve adjusted the light, cropped in closer and de-noised it, cleaned it up a bit.

So we arrive at a shot I’m happier with, to me it’s cleaner, cropped to include only the Rose, its leaves and then some blurred background.
Then I got carried away ………. or did I?

The same image now in black and white with a few light tweaks.
And finally, as I had been staring at this image for a good while as I worked on it, I wondered ….

Now and again I see a painting in a shot, what do you think?
This was down the lane I walk regularly back on June 1st.
“What’s in a name? That which we call a Rose By any other name, would smell as sweet”
I too keep all my photo’s, so many, even the not so good one’s, they all hold a memory, and can be useful, be turned into anything, including a story board of these Rose’s, like Dark into Morn.
As if taken throughout the darkness of the night, into the awakening of the early morn.
Yes, I do believe would make a lovely painting, but would also look good as a wall collage going through the various moments in time.
Ok, Ok, I’m a romantic, poetical and can see the beauty in all creation’s and it’s uses.
I dont do much editing any more, prefer the Eau Natrelle look, with all its flaws. I’ll edit one’s that are going into a frame, on a canvas, if needed, but keep the original, I only edit a duplicate, then the original is preserved with the memory.
They all hold a moment in time, a special memory that can be recalled every time one look’s at the photo’s, that makes them special, even if not perfectly ) shot. Thats what makes them unique, captures the true essence of the moment and even our mood.

Oh how I would love to wander the open expanse of the wild wilderness, notebook in hand ike the Bronte’s and just write my poetry, do my photography, listen and share the natural beauty that you are a part of. 🙏
Oh well, one can but dream. x
and Yes. I do believe there is a painting in the making just waiting to bloom. x

Roses are my favourite. I love the dark picture actually. It’s moody and haunting. And the black and white one too. Nostalgia ♡

Yeah black and white photos really do set a nice mood. It’s like they are classier. 🙂
