It was the sight of all those Redwing and Fieldfares that sparked my interest in this wee are but, the discovery of Nuthatches here was the real hook that dragged me back. I hadn’t seen them on the patch before at all and they were reasonably scarce the further North you travel so, here I was, back for another look.
I’d also decided to bring some bird food, see what I might attract.

There are a lot of Coal Tits up here so no surprise that they dropped in for a feed almost immediately. A Robin wasn’t shy about dropping in either.

There were a couple of Great Tits hanging around nearby but wary of dropping in while I was there but did get pretty close.

And then the prize dropped by, a Nuthatch.

It crept around nearby but didn’t come down until I backed away. I spotted a Treecreeper clambering around in the Oak branches above me.

They can be a wee beggar to get shots of, rarely keeping still for more than a few seconds.

And that was it for this brief visit, a good one having sighted the Nuthatch again.
